People who visit The Poortgebouw always have a great time. I know Cindy and her friends and I felt lucky when we found out we were offered to see a movie at the squat. It was beautiful and we got to see how difficult life really is in Indonesia, the former Dutch colony. After Soeharto stepped down in 1998 I don't think a lot has changed for the poor people but we don't see much in the news.

The result is a tense and moving film, which was chosen as the audience's favorite of the IDFA 2001 (international Documentary festival Amsterdam).
